Irondale doesn't match the McDonough area overall. Across the wider service territory, houses run from 1938 to 2007 with a median build year of 1976, which means a lot of original steel sectional doors on aging extension springs. Irondale skews much newer - the median home here went up around 1994. That's a real gap, almost two decades, and it changes what we find when we open the panel on a service call.
A house built in the mid-90s came with a garage door designed for a different kind of opener: chain-drive units with circuit-board logic boards instead of the older mechanical relay systems, and torsion springs mounted on a center shaft rather than the side-mounted extension setup common in older stock. The tracks are usually still roll-formed steel, but the hardware tolerances are tighter, and the panels are more often insulated steel or vinyl-clad rather than bare single-layer steel.
